Japanese Counters
Please click on the highlighted kanji to view the full description. Please
select some counters by tiching the appropriate checkbox next to it and press
the button on the bootom of the page to test your knowledge (you will be asked
some random questions for the sake of self-assessment). Please double-click in the
empty space to scroll to the top of the page. There are some
exceptions in the kanji; the
static exceptions apply
only to selected numbers; and the
rotating exceptions apply
to every number ending with the exception digit (e.g., 7, 17, 27, etc for ~7; 10, 20, 30,
etc for ~10). For 0, you use ない or いない as there's nothing to count; ゼロ can be used, too.
